Shalom and welcome to Kehilat Shalom, where Friends become Family!

Kehilat Shalom was established in 1971 and is a warm, vibrant Conservative congregation serving upper Montgomery County and southern Frederick County. We are fortunate to have Rabbi Mark Raphael as our spiritual leader, and Cantor Kim Komrad, who leads us in prayer.

We have a deep commitment to serving the Jewish community in our area and to creating a spiritual home for the members of our congregation. Along with Shabbat and Holiday services, Kehilat Shalom offers its members a wide variety of educational, cultural, and social programs. We have a full Hebrew education facility for children ages five through eighteen, an accredited Early Childhood Center, award winning Youth Groups, active auxiliaries including Men's Club, Sisterhood, and Active Retirees, as well as many opportunities for Lifelong Learning and engaging in Social Justice.

We have a great deal to offer each other - we are a dynamic, yet intimate congregation that offers you the opportunity to actively participate, to further your knowledge and experience of Judaism, and to develop new friendships in your community.
