Schlepping in Style, Torah Fund Craft Event - April 22, 10:00-12:00

Decorate your own reusable bag and at the same time support Women's League's Torah Fund - a fund that goes towards supporting Jewish higher learning institutes, such as the Jewish Theological Seminary. The event will be held on April 22 (Earth Day) from 10am-12pm. Please RSVP to Gail Lieberman (gail.lieberman@comcast.net) or Wendy Schneider-Levinson (wendysl@mindspring.com) by April 11. A minimum donation of $18 to Torah Fund for this year is required per family (previous pledges and donations made this year count), plus a fee of $10 for a light breakfast and supplies.

Flea/Swap Market & Gift Show - April 29, 9:00am-2:00pm

Are you ready to clean out your house of items that others can use? Sign up now to rent space to sell your wares!

Do you have old documents, credit card statements, or bank statements that will take forever to go through the shredder? A secure shredding company is going to be at the event only from 11am-1pm. For a minimal fee, you will be able to bring boxes of paper to be shredded.

One person's excess is another person's treasure - be sure to come on April 29 to see what others might be selling that will make the perfect addition to your home or collection - or be a great gift for someone else!

We are also looking for volunteers to help with this event!

Please contact Debra Weston at 301-519-0629 or fillygirl@yahoo.com to rent space, volunteer, or get additional information.

Plant Lover's Club

The Plant Lover's Club had their March meeting at the special orchid show on display now at the National Botanical Gardens. The main exhibition room contains the orchid display, emphasizing the many orchid varieties which have been developed in Japan. The room is filled with blooms in pots along the walkway and hanging overhead from tree trunks and limbs. We also visited the other indoor conservatories which are specific to different climates, and were able to take advantage of a beautiful sunny day to walk through the outdoor garden.

A meeting is not scheduled for April but instead we will be offering young plants for sale at the Kehilat Shalom yard sale on April 29.

Manna Food Center

Our next dates for volunteering at the Manna Food Center are May 8, August 14, and November 13. Please contact Marcie Tuegel at tuegelm@aol.com or 443-266-7190 for more information or to volunteer.

New Recipe Corner on the Sisterhood Web Page

We will be collecting recipes from various events as well as any of your favorite recipes that you want to share and posting them in a new "Recipe Corner" on the Sisterhood web page on the Kehilat Shalom site. This is a great time to share those favorite go-to Pesach recipes! Please send them to Billye Roberts at billye.roberts@gmail.com indicating they are for the Sisterhood Recipe Corner.
