Mission Statement
Kehilat Shalom Religious School is
committed to incorporating Jewish prayers and a broad knowledge of
Judaism, including Jewish history, bible and holidays with richness in
ritual and community to form a well-structured basis for living a
complete Jewish life.
At Kehilat Shalom, we would like each
student to participate in an array of Jewish experiences to complement
their required classes for a complete Jewish training. Students should
be able to participate in a Conservative Shabbat, holiday or weekday
service, including knowledge of the Torah service.
Mostly, we would like the student’s
Jewish education to be full of Ruach—spirituality and a sincere
pride in being Jewish.
School Hours
In Kindergarten through Second grade, we are
open to families who may or may not be members
of the congregation. Students attend one day a
week—on Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
Students in Grades 3 through 7 attend classes
two days a week. They are held on Sunday
mornings from 9:30-a.m.-12 p.m. and on Tuesday afternoons
from 4:00 p.m.-6:15 p.m. Membership in the synagogue is required.
Students in Grades 8-12 attend a Tuesday
night program from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
