Active Retirees at Kehilat Shalom

Who We Are… Active Seniors and Retirees

The Active Retirees of Kehilat Shalom is a group of active seniors who meet every Tuesday morning for fellowship and activities and who plan annual programs throughout the year. We are affiliated with Hazak, an organization sponsored by United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism for people aged 55 and older.

What We Do… Activities and Meetings

Typical Tuesday morning meetings begin at 10:30 am with 45 minutes of business followed by 45 minutes of programming. The programs vary from week to week, but they are always entertaining, educational, thought-provoking, and fun! The week’s program is always followed by lunch—bring a dairy sandwich and Kehilat Shalom’s Active Retirees provides desserts, coffee, and tea.

Annual programs include luncheons for Mother’s Day, Board Installation, and Chanukah as well as an annual picnic and a Purim celebration. In addition, the Active Retirees support many synagogue wide functions.

We Welcome You to the Active Retirees

Joining us for our Tuesday or annual programs is a great way to spend Tuesday mornings with a congenial, vibrant group of active seniors. We invite you to come to a meeting, join our lively discussions, and see what we have to offer. You’ll be glad you came!
